Summary:
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting and auditing regulations within the banking and financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of banking operations, accounting methods, and financial regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial records according to industry best practices, policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with banking operations staff to ensure accurate financial reporting at all stages of the banking process.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare financial reports, statements and analysis to present to senior management, stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Participate in financial planning and budgeting processes, providing key financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Monitor cash flows and track financial performance, providing regular reports and analysis to senior management.
- Participate in the development of financial accounting policies and procedures.
- Support cross-functional teams and participate in financial forecasting, risk management and controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- CPA or ACCA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting in the banking and financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
