A global fintech company providing a comprehensive operating system and payment platform for multiple retailers recently listed on Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and NASDAQ looking for an experienced Financial Accountant. Our Australia office in Woolloomooloo only 10 minutes walking distance from station. We focused on providing solutions for the unattended point of sale industry, including such devices as vending machines, laundry machines, toll booths, coffee machines and much more.

About the Role
This Financial Accountant position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company including the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintenance an adequate system of accounting records, comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:
End-to-end delivery of the month-end and year-end closing processes and reporting requirements including but not limited to:
- Take a leading role and ensure accurate and timely preparation and reconciliation of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
- Assist across all the areas of the financial operations, support and oversee AP, AR, EOM in a small team.
- Finalize monthly, quarterly and annually closing process and ensure accuracy of financial records including account payable team, accruals, billing team, revenue recognition, payroll journal entries, fixed assets and intangible assets reconciliation.
- Participate in SOX implementation process and ensure testing results are properly managed and documented.
- Responsible of intercompany reconciliation balances and transactions.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for Head Office.
- Support corporate reporting to prepare financial statements, financial reports and other annual external compliance reports.
- Work with Head Office, provide support and guidelines to the finance team and conduct the annual external audit.
- Assist with tax matters, transfer pricing studies and annual tax filings.
- Ad hoc accounting and finance-related projects as needed.
Requirements
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, currently at a Financial Accountant level in their career with strong month-end experience.
- Your career path has been through the AP/AR Assistant Accountant roles so that you have a solid understanding of transactional accounting and entries.
- Beneficial accounting experience/internship from Big 4 or Big Accounting Firm.
- Strong Adv Excel skills
- Good Knowledge of Accounting Standards, SOX, IFRS, Auditing
- Analytical, high motivated
- Excellent English skills
- Understanding of both financial and operational controls
