We are looking for a confident and organised Financial Accountantto join our finance team. If you are seeking your next challenge in a hands-on and varied role – this position may be for you!
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for internal and external financial reporting to meet corporate governance and compliance. You will be working closely with CFO and Financial Planning and Analysis Accountant (FP&A) to achieve department goals and assist during audits. You will be meticulous to achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly reports, maintenance of work instructions, training and supporting other members of the finance team.
Role:
- Maintain global accounts and supporting all other Finance functions and team members.
- Manage the analysis and documentation of ad hoc requests as required by the Financial Planning and Analysis Accountant (FP&A), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other functional leaders.
- Manage 3 direct reports.
- Preparing company statutory accounts to review stage.
- Support the preparation and timely submission of statutory returns such as Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
- Year-end accounts and liaising with auditors.
- Initiating and implementing improvements to current processes.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Support corporate governance/compliance audits and programs.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement activities such as supporting SAP system enhancements, process automation and reporting.
Successful Candidate:
- Minimum 5 years of working in a Finance role with Audit exposure (desirable).
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or equivalent including a CA/CPA (essential).
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with corporate and non-corporate employees to help facilitate effective communication of business needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with customers and work colleagues at all levels of the business.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
- Proactively contributing to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently when required.
- Experience with SAP and advanced excel skills would be advantageous.
- Exposure and understanding of standard costing would be advantageous.
