About the role:
We are currently looking for a qualified accountant to act as a Financial and Tax Accountant to join our team in the Australian Head Office based in Melbourne. This role will report directly to the Finance Manager and provide valuable information to enable better decision making as our products support global health care.
The key responsibilities will include:
Complete the preparation of various tax and insurance reports to ensure the business is compliant, including payroll tax, BAS, Annual Tax returns, FBT returns, ESS , Workers Compensation Renewals.
Review expense claims and ensure presence of receipts and Tax invoices, escalating any anomalies found.
Carry out internal audit activities.
Prepare, analyse and interpret information to ensure accurate and timely recommendations can be made to the business about prices, costs, risks and profitability.
Design, develop and refine procedures to ensure procedures are efficient and effective and aid finance in delivering business outcomes.
Complete reports for the business and individual business divisions and ensure anomalies are assigned to be followed up.
Act as a business partner for the business, providing information, analysis, expertise, and recommendations to the management team.

Your technical skills will include:
B.Com and CA/CPA qualification (essential)
Minimum 2-4 years' experience in financial / accounting position with tax experience
a Big 4 background considered favourably
Previous knowledge and experience in the SAP software system preferred
Proficiency in MS Office including Advanced Excel skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer service focus to both internal and external stakeholders
