The Honeymoon project is located in South Australia, is fully licensed for exports of up to 3.3mlb and is run by a strong management team which has leveraged off industry experts.

About the Role

As a Financial Controller based in our Adelaide CBD office, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our Group's financial performance is accurately and promptly communicated to key stakeholders, including our Executive Leadership Team, Board, and regulatory bodies like the ASX. Your responsibilities will span from crafting IFRS-compliant financial statements to providing insightful budget analysis and rolling 12-month cash flow forecasts. Leading a financial accounting team dedicated to continuous improvement and staying ahead of international accounting standards will also be part of your role. Additionally, you'll have the chance to dive into exciting projects like sustainability reporting, adding even more depth to your position.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the creation and assembly of a monthly reporting package destined for the ELT and Board.
• Ensure that the monthly reporting package furnishes pertinent insights to crucial stakeholders, covering aspects like financial health, profitability, and cash flow, including a rolling 12-month forecast.
• Oversee the crafting of the annual and semi-annual reports for submission to the ASX within a timeline aligned with industry peers.
• Institute an exemplary month-end process that undergoes continuous enhancement.
• Manage a Group risk register, ensuring its meticulous upkeep and updates by the Board.
• Aid in managing both domestic and international tax responsibilities by leveraging external providers (e.g., PWC), guaranteeing timely filings, adherence to relevant legislation, and optimizing financial outcomes for Boss Energy.
• Collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure accurate data inputs for both internal and external reporting obligations.

About You

You will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

• Tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with either CPA or CA certification.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a financial accounting expert, with a track record of managing teams.
• Demonstrate a knack for fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
• Exhibit a natural curiosity and enthusiasm for ongoing learning.
• Possess a thorough comprehension of financial frameworks, systems, and operational necessities.
• Display proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft programs, with desirable experience in ERP systems (such as Pronto).
• Maintain a solid understanding of mining safety regulations and industry best practices.
