About the position
We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller that will be based in Sydney Olympic Park. The successful candidate will have experience in the construction industry and experience as a company accountant in medium sized entity. The role will report directly to the CFO and lead a team of 2.
Successful candidates’ key responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining the company’s financial records for the five independent entities connected with Active Metal.
- Responsible for the statutory filing of all BAS, IAS, Superannuation, FBT provisional sum, PAYGI to ATO and support the accurate and timely creation of a preliminary budget
- Produce monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as directed by the CFO. The reports include management reports, reconciliations, preparing progress claims and invoicing
- Support and mentor 2 direct reports, Accounts Assistant and the Contract Administrator
- Reconcile ADP Payroll accurately and in a timely manner
What we are looking for
Successful candidates will have:
- Tertiary accounting qualification
- Proven experience as a company accountant in medium sized entity
- Previous experience within the construction industry
- Proficiency in using MYOB, Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- High attention to detail
- Experience in budgeting and cashflows
- Knowledge of Workbench an advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated with an ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines, and with other team members as required
- Exposure to managing teams is ideal
