About the Role
This contract opportunity will see you reporting directly to the CFO, the ideal candidate will provide leadership and direction to a small finance team while ensuring compliance with legislative policies, standards, and procedures. With a friendly and approachable demeanor, they will foster collaboration and effective communication across departments.
Responsibilities
- Delivering timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow reports.
- Managing financial reporting and accounting in line with regulatory requirements, overseeing the preparation of annual reports and statutory financial statements.
- Collaborating closely with management to communicate findings and support the budgeting process.
- Leading the creation and supervision of accounting systems, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Providing leadership and support to the compact accounting team, fostering their growth and development.
- Assisting the CFO in fulfilling ASX obligations and managing Cash Flow effectively.
- Consolidating financial statements and presenting them to the CFO and board.
- Utilizing proficiency in Xero/Reckon software and advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- Working under strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Overseeing year-end audits and preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Performing other duties as reasonably requested.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in finance and accounting leadership roles.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Experience in ASX listed, Mining or Resource companies is highly desired.
