Financial Controller | Property Development

Quinn Allan is proud to be exclusively partnering with a new Property Development business specialising in the fast growing land lease communities sector in their search for a Financial Controller.

With backing from a large institutional real estate manager, this business has been created to develop, own, and manage a portfolio of land lease communities. The business is now at a point in its journey to bring on board its first hire in finance.

The company has exciting growth plans on the horizon and is looking for a talented senior finance professional who can set up and lead the finance function and grow with the business as their operations expand.
  
About the Position
  
Reporting to the Directors of the business, the Financial Controller will have a broad remit, performing day-to-day accounting duties, being involved in a wide range of commercial projects, and ensuring the financial soundness of the business.

• Overseeing the development of initial accounting policies and procedures in conjunction with external advisors
• Process owner for all accounting, finance, and taxation functions
• Responsible for monthly management accounting and financial reporting
• Leading cash flow budgeting and forecasting
• Managing annual budgets and forecasts for corporate and development projects
• Preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports
• Ensuring relevant regulatory compliance and accounting standards are met and upheld
• Managing relationships with external banks and auditors
• Overseeing financial systems and being responsible for system implementations/upgrades where applicable
• Team management and hiring of direct reports
• Ad hoc financial analysis supporting business improvement opportunities

About You

• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, ideally with at least 5 years working within the property industry
• Chartered Accountant with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems to manage and report on development projects and ownership of assets
• Experience creating financial statements
• People leader with strong commercial acumen
• Self-starter with a willingness to directly manage and deliver the finance function
• Energetic and motivated personality with great ability to multi-task
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
