About The Role

The position of Financial Controller ANZ is a senior level role, reporting directly to the Director Finance Controlling APAC & MEA and GSSC who is located in Malaysia.

Based at our Mascot Head Office, you will lead a team with responsibility for all aspects of financial accounting, taxation & statutory reporting, accounting processes and controls. You will ensure quality of financial information throughout the accounting process are consistent, complete, accurate, and timely to meet statutory and IFRS reporting requirements at Local and Group level, and be responsible for local treasury, tax, company secretarial and capital structure matters.

In addition, Continuous improvement plays a big role, and you are someone who thrives on constantly looking for ways to improve process, procedures and team performance. You will enjoy project delivery, where you will lead and support on assigned projects.

What You'll Do

  • As an experienced people leader, you will maintain a highly engaged, high performing team.
  • Work with Shared Service organizations and all stakeholders on accounting and financial control issues and drive ECS compliance with Compliance teams
  • Participate in Finance Organisation Transformation, New IT System/ERP/tools implementation or enhancement, process automation, and continuous improvement projects as assigned, to drive operational excellence.
  • Company secretarial / statutory sign on duties
  • Evaluate financial transactions to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS)
  • Supervise period close & ensure financial reporting in line with IFRS and Group Reporting requirements
  • Improve and strengthen financial processes and drive standardization & automations
  • Manage external financial and regulatory audits
  • Manage Treasury activities together with regional and group teams
  • Manage tax related matters, ensure overall tax compliance, accuracy, and timeliness of company's tax reporting.
  • Drive awareness and compliance of group policy directives
  • Actively support individual professional development

Who You Are

  • You are currently working in a senior Financial Controller or Finance Director level position ideally within a global matrix structure
  • Your Industry experience must include working within an organisation that supplies or manufactures tangible products to the consumer. E.g., Consumer Goods, FMCG, Retail or Manufacturing.
  • Local tax & treasury knowledge across Australia & New Zealand
  • Hands on experience leading audits/reviews with the ATO and also drive tax compliance
  • Strategic Project Management experience
  • Demonstrable experience driving change and transformation
  • Experience using SAP, Insight and Cognos will be highly regarded
  • Degree Qualifications in Finance
  • Must have CA/CPA membership.
