The Role
The Financial Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and leads a small team of employees, it's responsible for managing the financial and group administration activities of the organisation, including the preparation of financial reports and analysis to support the business. Their role also supports the Chief Financial Officer in defining both short-term and long-term financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to enhance operations, efficiencies and performance
- Manage all accounting activities to ensure that financial processes and information are accurate, timely and contain adequate internal controls
- Coordinate and manage the preparation of financial reports, financial analysis and ad hoc requests for information
- Manage cash flow requirements and the process for customer credit request
- Evaluate opportunities for future growth through mergers/acquisitions and other expansions
- Monitor dealership financial metrics
- Analyse company operations to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and improvement in profitability
- Reconcile and maintain financial ledgers, including the General Ledger
- Oversee recruitment , staffing and employee development for your department
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in financial management, accounting or financial administration
- Knowledge of financial principles required for budgeting and strategic planning
- Proficient with accounting and financial systems including concepts such as budgets, Return on Investment (ROI), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), and Net Operating Return on Assets (NORA)
