Due to our exponential growth, we are seeking an operational Financial Controller (FC) to join our Finance Leadership Team and assist our CFO in leading our Finance Division across Conquest Group:
Expectations of the role:
- Develop sound and practical financial strategies to support the growth of Conquest
- Manage all aspects of the accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and financial planning, as well as cash and treasury, and cost reporting and analysis
- Support the CFO in managing the Finance division across Conquest Group
- Preparation of monthly financial reports including balance sheet, profit, and loss statement, and other internal management reports as needed
- Overseeing the month-end processes and ensuring the integrity of the financial results
- Preparing budgets and forecasts for all the operational entities
- Responsibility for year-end statutory reporting, tax returns, and treasury reporting
- Supervise the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and overall Finance teams
- Present monthly commentary and commercial insights to the Leadership team to support commercial and strategic decision-making
- Improve efficiencies and reduce costs across the business
- Ensure compliance with statutory law, taxation, and financial regulations
- Become a key driver of process improvements and system enhancements
- Drive budgeting and forecasting
- Ownership of the month-end process, including ensuring financial data and reporting are accurate, reconciliations are complete and reviewed, and month-end is closed within agreed timetables
- Ensure compliance with legislation
- Provide insights & analysis in relation to financial result
About You:
- Formal qualifications in an accounting-related discipline
- CA/CPA qualified
- Proven success in a FC role, within a construction & development environment (5+years of experience)
- Demonstrated capacity to understand financials, and effectively manage all aspects of a strategic finance function
- Demonstrated expertise in XERO
- CHEOPS experience is highly regarded
- Depth of understanding of Construction, Real Estate and Hospitality (preferred)
