About the business
Our client is a high profile fashion retailer located on St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
As a Financial Controller, you will support the business owner in handling the finance for their National Operations.
You will be Chartered or CPA and have 7+ years hands on experience in a financial accounting role in which you have built a strong track record for the timely and accurate preparation and presentation of management and year end financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of the monthly reporting processes
- Driving continuous improvement of month-end and reporting processes to deliver enhanced outcomes
- Key audit contact & support YE audit process
- Submission of monthly and quarterly BAS returns
- Cash flow and treasury including daily cash flow reporting
- Prepare monthly / yearly financial reports and supporting documentation;
- Manage all group tax, GST, CGT and FBT liabilities
- Ad hoc tasks
Your skills and experience (essential):
- CA or CPA qualified
- Ideally have previous experience in the retail world
- Experience in Financial reporting including preparation of general purpose Financial Statements and excellent knowledge of accounting standards
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail with a confidence to detect and correct errors
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team
- Motivation to consistently meet KPI's
