About the Role:
Our Financial Controller role provides finance leadership support to the franchise pharmacy services branch of our business and contributes to the profitability by delivering timely and accurate financial information to pharmacy owners. The role will see you establish and maintain robust controls around financial reporting and take the lead for identifying and championing change activities, ultimately delivering improved outcomes within your team and across our franchised pharmacies.
This is a permanent, full-time position at our headquarters in Mount Waverley.
Key Responsibilities of the role, and team, include:
Accounting Function
- Oversee delivery of end of month reporting as per business timetables (ensure staff complete required tasks, reconciliation of balance sheets and debtor/creditor control accounts, coordinate data intra-department and review month-end posting/allocations and accruals
- Preparation of monthly reporting to Pharmacy Proprietors
- Divisional budgets, forecasts and cashflow reporting
- Coordinate applicable statutory reporting process including liaising with external auditors and complete audit processes on time
- Ensure Icon Group policies and procedures are adhered to and assist with the development and implementation of financial procedures in line with the service delivery model to Pharmacies
- Translate business strategy into financial targets and tactical plans and support execution in a controlled risk and reward-based manner
- Lead the budget and forecasting process in collaboration with operational leaders and the Financial Controller
- Analyse and communicate financial reports and results across the organisation focusing on KPI’s
- Degree in Accounting / Finance and CPA / CA / CIMA qualified
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification commercial experience and at least 3 years of senior leadership experience
- Audit experience with a Big 4 accounting firm highly regarded
- Experience in Healthcare/Pharmacy industry highly regarded
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX/365 ERP system
- Strong attention to detail
- Understanding of monthly management reporting processes and prior experience with co-ordinating and completing monthly reporting cycles
- Good understanding of financial accounting processes and internal control environments
