Our Opportunity

Cafs Financial Counselling and Gamblers Help programs work collaboratively to achieve targeted outcomes. The Financial Counselling program aims to support people in financial difficulty, targeting financially disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the community through the provision of information and referral, financial counselling casework and related services including a specialist Family Violence Financial counselling service.

As a Financial Counsellor you are responsible for assessing factors contributing to financial hardship and for providing relevant information, options, support, referral and advocacy to help individuals and families to make an informed decision to manage and resolve their financial issues.  This role will provide direct client services and will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to provide support and services to clients in need.

This role will work collaboratively with a team of experiences counsellors within our Financial Counselling and Gamblers Help team.

About you

  • Hold experience in financial counselling, support and advice
  • Hold a relevant qualification in financial counselling, financial management or related field
  • Hold current membership or be eligible for membership for FCVic.
  • Enjoy a role where two days are not the same, and enjoy variety in your work
  • Have a passion for helping others and are motivated to make positive change within the community
