ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join a collaborative team on a permanent full-time basis in Blackburn.
This is a hands-on position with a key focus on delivering the annual statutory reports whilst coordinating the audit deliverables. You will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure adherence to Australian Accounting Standards and drive continuous improvement in financial processes within The Salvation Army.
The key focus of the role will be to:
- Assist in the delivery of year-end/month-end processing including aggregated consolidation entries and other group level adjustments.
- Review ledger transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Contribute to the development of the year-end timetable to ensure timely completion of Financial Reporting tasks.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements in Financial Reporting.
- Collaborate with the auditors to ensure audit requirements are met and information provided in a timely fashion.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Financial Reporting processes at The Salvation Army.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a proactive mindset and experience in financial accounting field. Your strong analytical skills and detail-oriented approach would play an imperative role in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Key capabilities for success in this role include
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field with CPA/CA qualification (completed or in progress).
- Previous audit experience would be desirable.
- 2+ years work experience in financial accounting/reporting.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
