Financial/Business Analyst - Investment Associate

Role description:

We are seeking an exceptional and reliable candidate with an analytical background to join our growing team based in Sydney, Australia.

• Succinctly articulate investment opportunities based on your business acumen and curiosity to identify value and risk drivers that support investment decisions.
• Build robust valuation models with scenario analysis capabilities.
• Drafting and preparing internal proposals for our Investment Committee.
• Providing analytics and insights to make risk based and informed decisions.
• Collaborate with marketing, legal, financial and technical advisors on deals.
• Conduct market research to assess the value potential for investment opportunities.
• Monitor potential investment opportunities across a range of heavy industry sectors including mining, energy, steelmaking, infrastructure etc.
• Develop relationships with partners and advisors.

Minimum requirements:

The position requires:

• Tertiary qualifications in finance or business management. Other relevant post graduate studies would be highly regarded.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in analytical services, preferably in a mergers and acquisition team, or business management consultancy.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills, with knowledge of analytical platforms in addition to proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Strong business acumen with ability to understand and identify key business value drivers.
• Team player with responsible and proactive approach and solid communication skills.
• Fluent English, multi-lingual is beneficial.
• Interest and basic understanding of mining and electricity generation industries.
