Qualifications and Experience:
- Trade Certificate in Fitting and Turning or Toolmaking.
- Experience using Solid Edge.
- Broad understanding of various manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of value management, project management, and business management practices.
- Familiarity with drawing standards and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
- Understanding metrology and experience operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with building and testing prototypes.
- Basic understanding of electrical theory is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction across all levels of the business.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the research and development team to advise on manufacturing methods for new concepts.
- Manufacture and assemble components for prototyping and testing.
- Ensure designs are scalable and manufacturable.
- Develop engineering scopes and specification documents for projects.
- Document designs, including 3D modeling, manufacturing drawings, process specifications, DFMEA, and risk assessments.
- Drive continuous improvement of equipment, products, and processes.
- Work effectively within a team environment, interacting with engineers, researchers, and quality teams.
- Develop product and site support literature.
- Promote and uphold a culture of safety, ensuring that everyone returns home safely every day.
