About the Role:
The Manager Fixed Assets and Leases role is part of the Global Accounting and Integrity team within Group Financial Control (GFC) and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our organisation.
The Manager Fixed Assets and Leases has 5 direct reports and will be located in Perth, Australia and report to the Head of Global Accounting and Integrity. This is a fixed term opportunity for two years.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leadership and management of the Fixed Assets and Leases team
- Fixed Assets and Leases external and internal reporting (ASX, WFOR, JVP, HY/FY, Tax) and general ledger reconciliation review, ensuring integrity of the Fixed Assets and Lease balances for the Group and adherence to accounting standards and policies.
- Process Owner for the Fixed Assets and Leases processes including process and system design and application.
- Long-term strategic focus to align the processes with the company direction and evolving requirements.
- Fixed Assets and Lease accounting focal point for the business and broader Finance function such as provision of major project capitalisation advice.
- Provision of Fixed Assets and Leases support for external audit requests and tax requirements.
- SOX control owner for Fixed Assets and Leases Entity Level and Process level controls.
- Control assessments, and the development and execution of remediation plans of Fixed Assets and Leases owned controls.
- Provision of training on the various SOX controls and processes where required.
Skills & Experience:
- Ability to lead through others, inspiring and motivating a team of finance professionals.
- Proven ability to build and maintain good long-term relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- A solid understanding of the end-to-end asset lifecycle.
- An understanding of Woodside's financial systems and processes and SAP experience.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, as well as deliver on key business initiatives.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities, process improvement mindset, organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to support and work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with financial regulations, e.g. accounting standards, SOX.
- Professional qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent).
- 8+ years experience as an accounting professional.
