Requirements
POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Planning and Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor the Fitter is responsible for advising, maintaining, and optimizing the maintenance for the Fixed Plant at Port Gregory mine site, in line with the budget, site standards and legal obligations.
Roster: rotating 4 days / 4 off / 4 nights / 4 off (12 hrs)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | MAINTENANCE
- Maintenance and repairs on Fixed Plant Equipment on a Mineral Sands Plant (Breakdown and
Preventative) - Working on; conveyors, pumps, pipes and other Fixed Plant equipment
- Accurate processing of machine records including pre-starts, work orders, service reports and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Co-ordinate the purchase of parts as per job specification.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing an equipment knowledge framework for all installed mechanical machinery.
- Provide to management forward planning for plant and equipment upgrades or replacements.
- Ensure critical spares and rotable spares are maintained.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | ASSETT RELIABLITY
- Identify potential issues that may affect equipment in the future or trends starting to occur within the equipment that could affect availability and reliability. Perform root cause analysis to rectify and avoid future occurrences.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and cost savings.
- Monitor and maintain machine health through the accurate ongoing analysis of oil, vibration analysis, thermographic analysis, ultrasonic analysis and thickness testing, or any other means of condition monitoring.
ESSENTIAL/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:
- Australian Recognised Engineering- Mechanical Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering or
Equivalent). - Any nationally recognised leadership qualification is desirable.
SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Ideally have site-based experience with competent knowledge and ability in the maintenance of Fixed Plant
- Rigging and Dogging High Risk Licences (desired)
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space Licences
- HRW Scaffolding Ticket (Intermediate or Advanced highly preferred)
- Right to Work in Australia
- Current Australian Drivers' Licence
- Able to pass a Comprehensive Pre-employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol Screen
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
