The Fleet Asset Manager is a key role in the Swissport Australasia operational support team responsible for ensuring optimum fleet performance, availability, reliability, renewal and retiring, and oversight of the organisation’s airport ground support equipment (GSE) fleet. The role is responsible to provide high quality and responsive fleet support to the organisation through the provision of asset maintenance planning, and reporting associated with both insourced and outsourced plant & equipment maintenance.
Based in Sydney, you will work closely with the Head of Fleet and National Operations Manager to ensure effective operations of GSE throughout the network.
Responsibilities of the role:
- End-to-end coordination of Swissport GSE fleet including:
- Fleet and other plant and equipment planning, monitoring and reporting;
- Fleet total cost of ownership;
- Fleet renewal and retiring;
- Support the development and implementation of fleet strategy, policies and guidelines aligned to Swissport Global Fleet priorities and operational requirements;
- Fleet performance, reporting, business improvement and best practice projects;
- Develop, implement and monitor strategies and tactical programs to maximise fleet productivity and efficiency;
- Monitor, review and provide decision support to complex and high value fleet repairs and modification and improvement programs;
- Monitor fleet defects accordingly and pursue warranty claims with OEMs as appropriate;
- Manage any asset transfers, including shipping from OEMs and station to station;
- Develop, implement and monitor systems for the safe and secure operation of all equipment.
What would make you stand out for this role?
- Extensive experience in heavy vehicle and/or plant & equipment fleet management including lifecycle costing, through life support strategies, parts and supplier management;
- Thorough knowledge of Aviation industry particularly relating to ground support equipment operation and maintenance; (preferred);
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of equipment design and operation (mechanical, automotive or plant trade qualification highly regarded);
- Extensive experience with CMMS's (e.g. Maximo, etc.);
- Contract and supplier management experience in areas of plant and equipment maintenance;
- Excellent time management, organisation skills and problem solving skills with the ability to manage a changing workload;
- Commercially focused with experience in a results driven environment;
- Strong analytical and judgment skills;
- Advanced proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suit with the ability to develop proficiency in using company IT systems;
- High level verbal reasoning, communication and interpersonal skills with the aptitude to be able to lead, direct, coach, develop and motivate a team and/or key stakeholders;
- Ability to work with minimal direction, displaying initiative and motivation.
