We are currently seeking a Fleet Construction Managerto join our Fleet & Radio team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role operates from Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm from one of our offices in Belmont. Reporting to the Head of Fleet and Radio Communications, you will be responsible for end-to-end fleet processes from the acquisitioning of new vehicles to the decommissioning of older vehicles.
What you’ll do:
- Liaise with key vehicle suppliers on vehicle requirements and associated performance regarding quality, cost and turnaround
- Raise all purchase offers for builds and input data onto accounting systems associated with invoicing
- Coordinate new for old vehicle swap-outs across metro and regional sites, and liaise with radio and communications team to ensure all equipment is ordered in a timely fashion
- Prepare annual budget for new builds and decommissioning activities
- Lead the research and preparation of specifications for new vehicle acquisitions and requirements to meet business needs
- Manage team to deliver new builds and decommissioning activities, and communicate status updates to key stakeholders
- Ensure all work is well documented and consistently reviewed to ensure that we are obtaining a cost-effective result
- Deliver requirements of Industrial Health team to provide vehicles for external customers
What you’ll need:
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse stakeholder network
- The ability to coordinate different projects and prioritise competing obligations
- An understanding of budgeting project spend and forecasting overall deliverable costs
- Strong leadership skills with insight into allocating workload to additional staff
- Intermediate Microsoft Office competency
- An understanding of Fleet Construction or the automotive industry
- Automotive trade certificate (desirable)
