About the role
Fleet Control is a vital part of V/Line’s Integrated Operations Centre. The team rosters vehicles to operate on Victoria’s extensive regional rail network, working with a variety of stakeholders to make safe, efficient and well-informed decisions in a fast-paced operational environment. No two days will be the same in this always evolving role.
Key accountabilities include:
· Managing rostering of vehicles on the V/Line passenger rail fleet,
· Developing and implementing alternative fleet plans as required,
· Working with the Integrated Operations Centre team to support safe and efficient running of the network, minimising the impact of network delays,
· Communicating clearly with frontline staff to capture fleet fault reports and liaising with V/Line’s maintenance partner to help rectify issues.
About you
Fleet Control staff need to have great attention to detail and communication skills. You can work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment and must be available to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including public holidays and weekends.

Experience rostering/scheduling in a fast-paced operational environment or similar work in the transport industry would be an advantage, but we know the next great Fleet Controller could come from anywhere, so if you can demonstrate the required skills we’d love to hear from you.
The successful applicant will be paid in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employee Agreement 2019, SNR OFF D01, $57.6265 per hour.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 or Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019). Current employees are expected to remain in their role for a minimum of 12 months before applying to new positions within V/Line.
