Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Linehaul Operations:
- Oversee daily linehaul operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring truck movements to optimise efficiency and meet customer requirements.
- Allocate and coordinate resources, routes, and schedules for drivers to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups.
- Monitor and manage driver performance, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Driver Management and Support:
- Provide coaching, training, and guidance to drivers to enhance their performance, safety, and professionalism.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to drivers, addressing any performance or behaviour issues.
- Collaborate with HR to address driver-related matters, including hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all linehaul activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations, including monitoring driver compliance with hours of service and vehicle maintenance.
- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safety-first culture among drivers and staff.
- Investigate and report accidents or incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Communication and Coordination:
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between the linehaul team, other departments, and clients to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with customer service and logistics teams to address any issues, delays, or changes in schedules promptly and professionally.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of all linehaul activities, including driver logs, dispatch records, and incident reports.
Profile
Qualifications:
- Experience ideally within interstate Linehaul (exposure to rail and sea freight is highly desirable)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or related industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role with strong customer engagement.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Job Offer
What's on offer
On offer is a competitive annual base salary between $80,000 - $90,000 + 11% superannuation + annual bonus. You will qualify for reimbursements if any travel is required.
