Why will you enjoy this role?
The purpose of this position is to assist the Night Supervisor with coordinating the delivery and collection process for the 2024 Sydney Royal Easter Show Flower & Garden Competitions.
The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the largest annual ticketed event staged in the Southern Hemisphere and we are currently looking for an Assistant Night Supervisor to join our Flower & Garden Competitions & Events team for the 2024 Show.
To excel in this role, you will have exceptional customer service skills combined with event and/or hospitality experience. You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of duties including, but not limited to:
- Set up and dismantle exhibitor tables for exhibit preparation and packing
- Aid exhibitors in plant collection and unbenching of exhibits and address their queries promptly
- Prepare necessary paperwork for exhibitors in advance
- Dispose of soiled horticulture materials and clean benches thoroughly
- Support the Night Supervisor in distributing daily Flower & Garden catalogues for benching
- Organize class spacing based on space reports
- Document any issues in the communication book
- Assist the Night Supervisor in ribbon and certificate removal
- Other duties as may be reasonably given
If you have?
- Knowledge of the Horticulture or Landscaping industry (desirable)
- Must be willing to work every second night (7:30pm - 1:00am, however hours may vary)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Strong initiative, time management and attention to detail
