Lead the Food & Beverage Team at the Brisbane German Club
The Brisbane German Club, a vibrant hub celebrating German culture in the heart of Brisbane, is seeking a passionate and experienced Food & Beverage Manager to lead our service team.
The Club is now celebrating its 141st year, cementing its position as Queensland’s longest-running ethnic club, and this year our Oktoberfest is itself celebrating its 50th year in Brisbane!
We have a strong following and a formidable reputation for being the prominent custodians of German customs, entertainment, Bier, and cuisine in Brisbane.
About the Role:
In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our food and beverage service, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for our members and guests. You'll lead a dedicated team, manage stock control, assist in developing menus that celebrate German cuisine, and contribute to the overall success of the Club.
What you'll bring:
- An impeccable knowledge and appreciation of Bier (the real Bier, not just beer)
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Food & Beverage management role
- Understand, appreciate, celebrate, and revere Reinheitsgebot
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
- An impeccable knowledge and appreciation of Bier (the real Bier, not just beer)
- Strong understanding of food and beverage service operations
- Excellent stock control background and experience with supplier negotiation and managing extended lead times on imported product lines
- An ingrained passion and lived experience of German culture and language
- Experience in menu development and costing
- An impeccable knowledge and appreciation of Bier (the real Bier, not just beer)
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and on varying scales, from simple restaurant service right through to major events
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude
