The Opportunity:
We are seeking an individual who is not just a manager, but a leader and motivator. In this dynamic and multifaceted role, you will be responsible for leading the cake and bread production team while also overseeing the overall operations of the bakery. This unique opportunity allows you to utilise your Food Production expertise and leadership skills to drive the success of the bakery. Your Role:
Full-time role averaging around 42 hours per week. This role will include some public holidays and one weekend day per fortnight. Our bakery operates 7 days a week, shifts range between the hours of 7 am to 11 pm. Salary negotiable based on experience for the successful candidate.
This is a Dual Role, your time will be split between running the cake / bread shift and overseeing other departments in the bakery in your capacity as Production Manager. Responsibilities include:
Team Leader (Cake and Bread Shift) ~ 22 hrs:
- Lead a team of bakers, pastrycooks and assistants (11+) ensuring the shift runs smoothly
- Develop production plans to effectively meet customer demand
- Manage waste and maintain unwavering quality standards.
- Monitor ingredient inventory levels
- Oversee the R&D function of the shift
Bakery Production Manager ~ 20 hrs:
- Oversee overall bakery operations, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Coach and develop department Team Leaders to lead and motivate the wider team (30+)
- Implement and sustain efficient production processes
- Oversee the recruitment and training of the team
- Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, procedures and WHS
Requirements You Bring:
- Minimum 3 years Food Production or manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership background with demonstrated success in leading and motivating teams
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills for effective team coordination
- Ability to identify and drive process improvements
- Proven track record in problem solving and an eye for detail
- Desirable: Baking / Pastry experience is NOT required but would be an advantage
- Desirable: Experience with Continuous Improvement principles will set you apart
