We are looking for the energy of an enthusiastic and experienced Production Manager to further build on our success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the production process and demonstrate hands on management in a food manufacturing environment
- Manage and monitor the direct and indirect production personnel ensuring production is carried out in a manner consistent with safety, environmental, quality and GMP requirements as well as regulatory compliance.
- Arrange pre-production meetings with operations staff to identify priorities and address team issues on a regular basis
- Maintain a training/skills matrix for production staff, to assist in the production planning process
- Build a quality culture that proactively identifies quality risks and issues, putting in place actions to resolve them
- Manage production staff according to company standards, with regards to appraisals, performance, training and development etc.
- Fully support the drive for new product development through timely provision of advice and trials.
- Proactive support and participation in continuous improvement activities, especially those that yield production efficiency and cost reduction.
- Drive the attainment of lowest cost conversion by continually focusing on labour control and high production efficiencies.
- Guide and direct the plant maintenance and site infrastructure maintenance.
- Ensure systems are in place and followed to deal with personnel issues, disciplinary processes and accountabilities and to ensure industrial harmony.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in either production supervisory roles or other similar roles, preferably in the food industry.
- Familiar with the HACCP system
- Experience in OHS and training as well as working in the SME environment.
- Sound ability to collect, analyse and present complex data and information effectively to support decision making and action planning
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide authoritative advice, influence and negotiate with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks to achieve objectives and KPIs
- Developed computer literacy, including knowledge and experience in using Microsoft suite of software Excellent verbal and written communication.
