Production Manager

We are looking for the energy of an enthusiastic and experienced Production Manager to further build on our success. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the production process and demonstrate hands on management in a food manufacturing environment
• Manage and monitor the direct and indirect production personnel ensuring production is carried out in a manner consistent with safety, environmental, quality and GMP requirements as well as regulatory compliance.
• Arrange pre-production meetings with operations staff to identify priorities and address team issues on a regular basis
• Maintain a training/skills matrix for production staff, to assist in the production planning process
• Build a quality culture that proactively identifies quality risks and issues, putting in place actions to resolve them
• Manage production staff according to company standards, with regards to appraisals, performance, training and development etc.
• Fully support the drive for new product development through timely provision of advice and trials.
• Proactive support and participation in continuous improvement activities, especially those that yield production efficiency and cost reduction.
• Drive the attainment of lowest cost conversion by continually focusing on labour control and high production efficiencies.
• Guide and direct the plant maintenance and site infrastructure maintenance.
• Ensure systems are in place and followed to deal with personnel issues, disciplinary processes and accountabilities and to ensure industrial harmony.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in either production supervisory roles or other similar roles, preferably in the food industry. 
• Familiar with the HACCP system
• Experience in OHS and training as well as working in the SME environment.
• Sound ability to collect, analyse and present complex data and information effectively to support decision making and action planning
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide authoritative advice, influence and negotiate with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks to achieve objectives and KPIs
• Developed computer literacy, including knowledge and experience in using Microsoft suite of software Excellent verbal and written communication.
