An exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Quality Assurance Officer currently exists to join our Lamb team at our Cobram Plant. A pleasant 3 hour drive north of Melbourne, our Cobram Food Processing Facility is located on the banks of the Murray River in the picturesque Goulburn Valley. This setting offers a relaxed lifestyle while providing great facilities for team members and their families. The Cobram site specialises in processing sheep and goats and has the ability to handle over 4,000 head per day, operating five days per week. Growing to employ over 350 team members, the Cobram facility offers excellent career opportunities across many aspects of meat processing.
Responsibilities
- Interaction with management, production, and supervisory personnel
- Quality production due to the procedures used in processing, preparation and dispatch parameters as required by government regulations, both internally and externally to Australia
- Revise by amendment when necessary all publications and quality manuals following liaison with management
- Ensure samples required by the laboratory are collected form the sampling points and delivered to the laboratory without delay
- Participate in internal/external audits
- Monitor total hygiene practices in amenities, production areas, and render department on a daily basis
- Maintain a constant awareness of line testing results i.e. chemical leans, Criteria Reinspection
- Ensure corrective actions implemented are recorded showing results etc.
- Maintain an up to date status of all publications/manuals regardless of source pertaining to the Quality System
- Monitor/record when necessary results of instrument calibration e.g. scales, thermometers, torches and pH metre
- Stop Production regardless of location if nonconformities are not or cannot be corrected whilst production continues.
- Covers for the Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager in their absence
About you:
- Highly developed time management skills including prioritising tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to generate, analyse and circulate results in a timely manner
- Intermediate computer literacy (particularly MS Office)
- Highly developed verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of company specifications and customer requirements.
- Ausmeat Accreditations would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in the understanding and implementation of Quality Assurance and HACCP Principles
- Demonstrated ability to identify critical aspects of production.
- Knowledge of Slaughter Floor, Boning Room and Cold Store processes would be an advantage
- Internal auditing experience and qualifications would be favourably received
- Understand and comply with Workplace Health and Safety standard
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and work seamlessly with internal stakeholders
