About the role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Quality and Safety Assurance Officer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and safety of the food products packaged within our Social Enterprise site. Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will support the implementation of our Food Safety Management System, including HACCP and pre-requisite programs such as GMP, GHP, Traceability, Allergens, Calibration, Hold, and Non-Conformance management.
Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to -
- Assist in the delivery of the HACCP plan and ensure alignment with food safety objectives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and safety.
- Conduct education and training sessions on food safety practices for staff members.
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the application of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Quality Management System at our Walker Street and Butt Street site.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager for additional support and guidance regarding the Quality Management System.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems, including HACCP principles and prerequisite programs.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 Accreditation standards and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Formal training in HACCP, SQF or other relevant Food Safety System Accreditation.
- Experience in the documentation, implementation and continuous improvement of SQF and HACCP food quality assurance systems and processes.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Allergen and Foreign Object Hazard Management.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of GMP and Personnel Hygiene Management.
- Competent IT skills including QMS software and competence in use of the full Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
