The Position
We are seeking dedicated Support Workers with specialised experience in forensic support, including expertise in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) support, mental health, and managing behaviours of concern. Join our compassionate team in Melbourne and make a difference in the lives of individuals with complex needs, including those with criminal histories. Our participants are located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
This role offers opportunities for professional growth within our organisation and the broader field of forensic support, with an emphasis on AOD support and mental health interventions.
Positions are available for day shifts, mornings, afternoons, early evenings, and weekends, with hours tailored to participant needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of forensic support, including expertise in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) support and mental health interventions.
- Knowledge of disability and mental health issues, particularly as they intersect with forensic support and AOD support.
- Previous experience in the Support Worker or Disability Field, with a focus on behaviours of concern management.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Victorian Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working with Children Check.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, crucial for building rapport and trust with participants.
- Basic computer/technology knowledge to effectively document participant progress and communicate with the team.
- Dedication to providing excellent customer service with genuine care and attention to our participants' needs.
- Strong time management and organisational skills to effectively manage participant schedules and support plans.
- Passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs, including those with criminal histories and behaviours of concern.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide specialised support to individuals with varying needs, including those arising from criminal histories, AOD issues, and mental health challenges.
- Adapt to flexible work arrangements based on participants' individual requirements, including shift times, personal care tasks, and managing behaviours of concern.
- Willingness to undergo additional training, such as AOD support interventions, mental health first aid, and de-escalation techniques, to ensure high-quality support delivery.
