Role Overview:

Applications are sought for the full-time position of French Teacher to commence in 2024. This is an ongoing position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and contribute to the rich tapestry of Catholic education. As a French Teacher, you will play a vital role in fostering linguistic proficiency, cultural appreciation, and global citizenship.
Responsibilities:

• Dynamic Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in the French language, catering to the diverse needs of learners. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to make language learning enjoyable and accessible to all students.
• Cultural Immersion: Create opportunities for students to explore French culture, traditions, and history through authentic resources and experiences. Foster a deep appreciation for the Francophone world and promote cross-cultural understanding.
• Language Proficiency: Develop students' proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing French, ensuring gradual progression and mastery of language skills. Provide opportunities for authentic communication and interaction in French both inside and outside the classroom.
• Cross-Curricular Integration: Collaborate with colleagues to integrate French language and culture across the curriculum, fostering interdisciplinary connections and enriching students' learning experiences. Explore opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration with French-speaking communities.
• Assessment and Feedback: Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback for improvement. Employ a variety of assessment tools and techniques to accurately measure language proficiency and target areas for growth.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
• Possess a relevant qualification in French language and culture or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching French language and culture in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
• Demonstrate a passion for French language and culture and a commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding and communication skills.
