My client is a prominent distributor within the retail / FMCG industry. They are one of only two major suppliers to independent supermarket operators on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia and they operate a large distribution centre of some 40,000sqm from premises located on the southern side of Brisbane.
The opportunity has arisen for a Fresh Foods Coordinator to coordinate the execution of this category. The role is to assist in the implementation of the strategic plan for the Fresh Food Departments of the business to maximise Sales and Profit contribution in line with the company objectives. Fresh Food Departments includes Produce, Delicatessen, Bakery, Seafood and Meat.
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and growing trade partner relationships, assisting with sourcing and development of the category products as well as implementing and executing initiatives in line with company objectives.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the yearly & weekly promotional plan and catalogue product nominations
* Manage supplier relationships for the optimal benefit of the company to ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
* Creation of store communication and notices for the weekly newsletter
* Supplier data maintenance and creation of new lines
* Ability to answer customer queries relating to the department
* Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and in line with business processes
* Prepare, attend and participate in team meetings
* Maintain product/price data integrity upon receiving update notification
* Allocate stock and new lines to the company network as required
* Action stock clearance to minimise potential impacts to the business
* Source images, copy and other relevant information to support marketing/catalogue production
* Implement and manage promotional programs to maximise business sales opportunities
* Undertake market/store visits to gain a thorough understanding of performance and opportunities.
Skills & Experience:
* High level computer skills with advanced excel skills essential (This is essential)
* Ideally prior experience in cost price maintenance, promotions management/communication
* FMCG industry desired
* High level of MS office competency
* Previous experience in retail buying within the FMCG environment
* Point of Sale or systems maintenance experience
* High level of data input speed, accuracy and attention to detail
