About the role

We are looking for an experienced and confident Fresh Produce Buyer to be responsible for sourcing, while maintaining the highest of quality standards and meeting daily stock requirements. 

Specific duties include:

• Daily visits and contact with wholesalers to ensure daily stores’ stock requirements and orders are met daily according to set criteria.
• Nurture relationships with all suppliers and growers to achieve continuous optimal pricing and quality.
• Liaise with the store managers to ensure products are priced and merchandised correctly
• Manage perishable inventory through daily review of sales, inventory adjustments and quantities.
• Analyse sales data, and recommend opportunities for growth
• Manage price changes and new products.
• Utilise our custom ERP software
• Regular store visits, reviewing execution, standards and operational compliance

About the person

We are looking for a motivated and committed Fresh Produce negotiator/buyer, with a proven work history.  They will have great communication skills and be proficient with computers and basic tech.  A naturally positive person who thrives in diverse and unique work cultures would be ideal.  As a team we take a lot of pride in our work and enjoy the outcomes we achieve together. 

The successful candidate must have: 

• History of meeting deadlines while coping with competing pressures. 
• Experience in a similar role preferably, in Fresh Produce buying.
• Experience with buying/dispatch software or equivalent
