Full time Chef
Percy Plunkett is a Restaurant/café serving Modern Australian cuisine. This café is the newest Western Sydney hotspot, bragging a robust all-day menu, serving everything from scones to burgers.
We are currently looking for a qualified Full Time Chef to join our team. Joining Percy Plunkett TEAM means being part of a challenging and exciting work environment. You will
be expected to maintain and improve company standards in every aspect.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks
· Create and design menus, considering factors such as customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal ingredients.
· Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to recipes.
· Oversee and manage kitchen operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and coordination of workflow.
· Train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
· Monitor and maintain food quality throughout the cooking process, consistently delivering dishes that meet or exceed standards.
· Select and source fresh, high-quality ingredients, maintaining relationships with suppliers and ensuring inventory is well-stocked.
· Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, implementing best practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
· Manage food costs by controlling portion sizes, minimizing waste, and optimizing the use of ingredients.
· Collaborate with restaurant management to develop marketing strategies and promotions.
· Stay updated on culinary trends, experimenting with new techniques and flavours to introduce innovative and appealing dishes.
· Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment, promptly addressing any issues to prevent disruptions in operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Relevant Qualifications
· A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
· Proficiency in various cooking techniques, including knife skills, food preparation, and cooking methods across different cuisines.
· Creative, and passionate about food and providing high standards of food service.
· Collaborating effectively with other kitchen staff, communicating clearly, and contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.

What we offer:
· Permanent full-time position
· Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 + Super
