Full-time permanent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced GP

About us:

We are a well-established General Practice located in Oberon NSW 2787 with more than 30 years of history. Due to recent increase in new and returning patients, friendly family practice is looking for a suitable qualified doctor. As a rural solo general practice with commitment to provide a holistic and easily accessible health care to the local community, we offer several on-site services including skin cancer procedures, physiotherapy, exercise physiologist, diabetes educator, dietician, audiologist, pathology collection and host specialist telehealth services through our Telehealth facilities. Our doctors also provide aged care-nursing home and home visits and 24 hours on-call coverage to the local hospital.

Position: General Practitioner

Work hour: Full time of (38 hours a week)

Responsibilities and expected skills include:

·         Provide primary care as per Australian General Practice Standards

·         Preventive care Screening for Cardiovascular & Cancer

·         As a rural practice, having skills to identify acute medical issues, and sick patients

·         Prior comparable skills and training in Emergency medicine

·         Prior comparable work experience in General Practice

·         Prepare to perform aged care or nursing home visits and Home visits

after attaining required level of training

·         Prepare to carry out Hospital on call responsibilities [ED and in patient care] after attaining required level of training

·         ECG interpretation

·         Basic medical diagnosis of respiratory disease, diabetes, Hypertension

·         Identifying red flags based on clinical history and observation findings

·         Have a current ALS certificate or complete one prior to commencing the work

Selection criteria:

The General Practitioner will be required to provide evidence of:

·         MBBS degree or higher qualification

·         Have current AHPRA registration or Eligibility to qualify for the one of the PESCI pathways for the AHPRA limited registration

·         Demonstrate commitment and understanding of patient care in a rural health setting and own wellbeing

·         Demonstrate commitment to live and work locally for a long term

·         Demonstrate willingness and ability to gain new skills, knowledge, and work in a fast-paced environment

·         Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the rural patient demography

·         Completion of CPD requirements as per the RACGP standard.

·         At least 2 years of prior work experience as a General Practitioner

·         Previous experience in emergency care, high dependency care and intensive care would be highly regarded
