As a not-for-profit private hospital, all revenues generated at North Eastern Community Hospital go back into the services we provide to our community. We believe it’s our strong connection to our community that attracts patients to our services. At NECH we are one of the few private hospitals in SA growing our service offering. We have two operating theatres, two dedicated gastroenterology procedure rooms, medical and surgical wards with plans towards growing and developing new services over the coming year.
About the role
This role will suit an individual who is keen to contribute to an organisation looking to make a positive difference to the future of healthcare and aged care. With the opportunity to work in a number of clinical areas from aged care, acute medical wards, post-surgical and staff wellness this is a role encompasses both experience and broad expertise.
This role is offered on a Full Time basis.
Reporting to the Allied Health Manager you will be responsible for providing quality clinical support and ensuring services delivered meet legislative standards and organisational policies.
Your key responsibilities:
- Deliver quality clinical care and support
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical abilities
- Provide education and advice for managing conditions and enhancing well-being
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for coordinated and effective care
- Manage priorities to prioritise residents/patients and support needs
- Implement programs for those with special needs
- Clinical assessment and interventions/treatment for acute medical conditions and management of chronic conditions and chronic pain with recommendations for nursing and personal care staff interventions.
- Apply specialist knowledge and expertise to maximise independence and quality of life
- Provide in-house manual handling training as an integral contributor within the allied health team
- Collaboration with Allied Health team during a period of growth where additional services will be provided for NECH including but not limited to Pre-employment medical assessments, Staff Wellness Clinics
- Assist with supervision and clinical guidance of Physiotherapy students as required
- Design and implementation of individualised restorative exercise programs for consumers who have short-term achievable physiotherapy goals.
- Design and implementation of small exercise groups for Aged Care consumers’ including but not limited to falls prevention group, seated exercise group, standing/balance group.
About you:
- Degree in physiotherapy from an accredited institution
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Passion for delivering high-quality care and commitment to professional development
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Clearance
- COVID and flu vaccinations to date
