About the MECC:
The MECC is a cutting-edge facility known for its versatility and innovation. With a range of dynamic spaces, including a 1090-seat theatre, 100-seat studio space, two plenary halls that can accommodate up to 1500 people, dedicated foyers, bars, an experimental theatre space, breakout rooms, and extensive front-house and backstage facilities, the MECC is designed to deliver unforgettable experiences. Additionally, the centre comfortably accommodates up to 1000 people in a banquet-style setting.
The Role:
As the Functions Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the set-up of the event and presentation of the venue is second to none, leaving a lasting impression on all who attend. You will be at the forefront of creating magical moments for our clients and attendees, leaving a lasting impression on all who participate.
Your role responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standard of venue presentation at all times.
Interpreting and adhering to floor plans to facilitate set ups for all events, meetings and shows, arranging seating, and ensuring all necessary furniture, equipment and materials are ready for the event to begin.
During events, you will assist with ensuring everything runs seamlessly.
After the event concludes, you will assist in the cleanup and breakdown process, ensuring the event space is left tidy and ready for the next occasion.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work flexible hours including day shifts, night shifts, after hours and on weekends as per the casual roster.
Qualification Requirements:
Possession of a current QLD Class C Driver's licence.
Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
Experience in Front of House operations, particularly in a mixed theatre/function environment.
Your ability to think on your feet and find quick solutions will be invaluable in maintaining event success.
Salary and benefits:
Base Hourly rate $25.91 + casual loadings
