The Support Officer - Emergency Services (ES) State & Territory (S&T) contributes to our strategic impact of supporting communities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. The Support Officer aims to help build communities that are strong, resilient, and able to anticipate, respond and recover well from disaster and climate change related emergencies. This role is seeking a passionate facilitator who will work with communities and networks to build resilience across Queensland by:Facilitating education and training workshops for example, EmergencyRedi workshops
Sharing information about the impacts of disaster and how to psychosocially prepare for them
Supporting people to identify risk and solutions specific to their circumstances.
Raising awareness of disaster preparedness through an annual, national campaign.
Develop and mentor volunteers to support and deliver EmergecnyRedi workshops in their communitiesThis role requires flexibility of working hours and ability to travel interstate. There may be opportunity to work across more areas of Emergency Services work including operational requirements, project work, volunteer engagement and community development work and operational response.What you will bringContribute to the development and implementation of project plans. Undertake project-related tasks
Ensure effective data collection, and monitoring and evaluation of relevant project activities to achieve strategic impact. Support consistent reporting data quality and analysis. Manage record keeping of critical documentation including decision and risk logs and knowledge base materials
Work to ensure compliance with Red Cross policy and relevant legislation to deliver on the effective management of project/s
Support Emergency Services personnel to participate in engagement activities with local community groups, agencies and committees, seeking ways to ensure connection between local volunteers and Red Cross Emergency Services programs
Provide administrative and logistics support as required
A current Working With Children's Check is mandatory

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 3. Salary from $71,155.76 FTE + superannuation + salary packaging.
