Anglican Funds Management (AFM) is an activity of The Synod of the Diocese of Adelaide and the Anglican Church of Australia. The funds management business serves all faith aligned, charitable, and educational organisations of like values to invest and access stable funding for church and charitable projects, and also to invest their endowment and every-day funds. AFM is currently seeking a Fund Management Accountant to join the finance team. This broad-ranging role will contribute to the efficient management of the operating investment funds, ensuring effective liquidity management, oversee unit price calculations, preparing financial reports, managing audits, and providing support for various financial activities. The role is part of a small team reporting to the Diocesan Finance Manager and to the Head of AFM.
The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Investment and/or Financial Services, be experienced in funds accounting and processes and procedures of financial institutions. You will demonstrate strong research skills and a comprehensive understanding of the implications of the Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Act. Advanced computer knowledge (accounting programs, spreadsheets and word processing), strong organisational, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills on all levels within and outside the organisation are essential for this role.
You are experienced in setting priorities and working under pressure to meet deadlines with absolute discretion, confidentiality, and utmost reliability. You are supportive of the values of the Anglican Church, self-motivated, think, plan, well versed to deal with a wide range of issues, make decisions and re-arrange priorities.
It is vital that the successful candidate has a high attention to detail, an understanding of the investment market and accounting with the ability to analyse the information and present findings to management of AFM, AFM Board and Subcommittees.
