Dress for Success Western Australia has an exciting opportunity for a fundraising professional to join our team (immediate start) for a 12-month parental leave contract as Fundraising Manager.
This part-time role will connect the hearts and minds of donors through meaningful engagement. The successful applicant will develop diverse and sustainable fundraising pipelines, campaigns, relationships and partnerships and secure financial contributions from new and existing supporters.
Our Fundraising Manager needs to be a self-motivated team player, who is highly organized, adaptable and has excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
A broad understanding of fundraising and philanthropy principles, systems and processes are essential, along with demonstrated experience in digital and community fundraising.
Reporting to the CEO you will join a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers who are passionate and committed to supporting and enhancing the lives of Western Australian women, then this could be the job for you!

Position Overview
The Fundraising Manager will work 24 hours per week spread across Tuesday – Thursday or as per operational need. Some nights or weekends may be required for management of fundraising activities.
They are responsible for growing revenue through individual giving, grants, and sponsorship to support our operational objectives and service delivery.
This pivotal role will contribute to our financial sustainability in line with the strategic revenue growth targets and values.
Given the limited resources of Dress for Success Western Australia this hands-on role will see the Fundraising Manager need to have both a strategic and operational focus. They will need to prioritize and balance work activities to deliver outcomes within the hours of work allocated.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of an annual integrated organisational fundraising strategy to support the overall DFS WA strategic plan and operational priorities.
- Identify, develop, and implement sustainable revenue generating activities across diverse income streams including grants, individual and major donations, philanthropic networks, sponsorships, and community fundraising initiatives.
- Hold accountability for setting and achieving agreed income targets via CEO & Board reporting.
- Identify, write, manage, and acquit government, foundation, and corporate grants.
- Manage effective development, planning, monitoring, implementation, tracking and reporting of all fundraising activities
- Develop, coordinate and deliver successful fundraising events, and support collaborative events with external organisations
- Building an Individual Giving program with a focus on acquisition, engagement, stewardship and retention.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective individual donors and major donors and identify which resources (ie. DFS Western Australia staff, volunteers, board, or volunteers) are best placed to assist.
- Build a strong network of new relationships with philanthropic contacts, private donors, community, industry, potential corporate sponsors, and foundations; across Government and the Australian Dress for Success affiliates network to develop new funding opportunities.
- Administer DFS Western Australia’s Customer Relationship Management tool
- Contribute to DFS Western Australia’s external communications, including website content, newsletters, marketing materials and social media posts
- Contribute to DFS Western Australia’s annual impact reporting
- Maintain knowledge of emerging and best practice fundraising trends and potential fundraising avenues to maximise future revenue generation.
- Collaborate closely with the DFS Western Australia CEO, Board and Board Fundraising Sub-Committee.
- Enact and promote DFS Western Australia values and ethos in all behavior, relationships, and communication.
- Demonstrate a commitment to DFS Western Australia policies and procedures, relevant Health & Safety, Equal Opportunity legislation and continuous improvement of procedures and processes.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a community fundraising with a proven track record of achieving sustainable funding revenue.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage cross platform campaigns from end to end.
- Solid knowledge and application of contemporary fundraising principles.
- Strong information technology skills including proficient use of MS Office 365, Canva, CRM, giving platforms and social media.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and work collaboratively with a diverse range of community, government, corporate and philanthropic stakeholders at a senior level.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
