Heathridge Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Gardener - Handypersons for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2025.
Heathridge PS is an Independent Public School located approximately twenty-five kilometres north of the city of Perth. Heathridge PS is a small, family-oriented school where current enrolments are 215 from Kindergarten to Year 6 with an existing 20% being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder who spend a significant amount of time in their mainstream classrooms. There is a dedicated and professional teaching and non-teaching staff who are committed to meeting the needs of students and the school community, including a Specialised Learning Program - Autism as of 2018.
As a Gardener - Handyperson, you will provide gardening, grounds, and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. Suitable applicants will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean, and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. You should possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals. Experience in servicing gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines.
Suitable applicants should possess good communication and organisation skills as well as attention to detail and be able to work unsupervised as well as within a team environment.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
- Experience in minor servicing of horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals.
