We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Asset Management and Technology team as a Gas Turbine Asset Engineer. This will see you contributing to the overall performance and capability of Snowy Hydro's gas and diesel assets, and be responsible for the development and management of engineering standards & strategies to meet business needs.
This is a pivotal role that, by mutual agreement, can offer flexible working arrangements, as Snowy Hydro appreciates the additional value such arrangements can bring to our business and to our employees. This role has the ability to be based out of Cooma, Canberra, or Melbourne, with attendance to sites within the Snowy Mountains region and interstate as required.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Ensure safe and effective management of Gas Turbines and diesel gensets through Asset Health & Asset Risk processes
Attendance to gas and diesel sites as required to meet operational needs, to build and sustain effective relationships and be attuned with the gas and diesel assets
Delivery of asset reliability improvement opportunities to ensure asset maintenance strategies are effective, controlling asset risk and complying with regulatory obligations in conjunction with key stakeholders
Provide technical and engineering advice to the business including condition assessment, troubleshooting technical faults, conducting investigations and endorsing asset change and commissioning plans
Engage with external delivery partners and ensure commercial frameworks are in place with external consultants
Assure the business that major asset risks and controls are effectively identified, assessed and working efficiently
Provide effective leadership of integrity management programs to ensure safe and reliable asset performance

We are looking for someone with:
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in Asset Management principles and well connected with peers across industry
Minimum 5 years of Gas Turbine experience, or relevant past industry experience
Negotiate, manage and supervise external contractors and consultants
Ability to understand asset health and risk with an understanding of applicable standards for gas and diesel asset classes
Proven ability to build and sustain strong working relationships with your peers and wider business through collaboration and engagement
Able to work with autonomy and responsibility; and to work effectively both at the sites and remotely
Sound knowledge of Quality, OH&S, EEO, and Environmental policies, procedures, and standards
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards
