Your New Role
Reporting to the Managing Director you will support the Executive Leadership Team and be responsible for the legal, compliance, and risk management for the organisation. As an experienced legal counsel, you will be well accustomed to the diversity of work that comes from being in-house. You will work to support key stakeholders in negotiating significant high-value commercial contracts, leasing and licensing as well as intellectual property, employment, and IR matters.
With a readiness to be hands-on as the legal conduit and strategic liaison, you will be instrumental in establishing a new legal and compliance function. Your well-developed commercial acumen combined with the ability to deliver effective and fit-for-purpose legal advice will be key to your success in this exciting greenfield role.
Your Skills Profile
- 10 years plus PAE in general commercial and contracts law;
- Previous experience as a Senior Legal Counsel or General Counsel is desirable, but not essential;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver commercial and fit-for-purpose legal advice on a wide range of issues;
- Demonstrated ability in both internal and external stakeholder management;
- A seasoned leader with a growth and open mindset and a focus on continuous improvement;
- Japanese language proficiency would be beneficial but not essential; and
- Ability to work autonomously while also fostering a cooperative work environment.
