General Equipment Operators (Sports Fields)

The Package: $1,101.39 - $1,217.07 gross per week 11% super. (Evaluated as Grade 4 of the QPRC Salary System 2023). Full time – 38 hours per week. RDO conditions will apply. It is an exciting time for Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council with new Sports Fields coming on board. Specifically new fields in Bungendore (Bungendore Sports Hub), Googong and South Jerrabomberra (Regional Sports Complex). We are seeking an enthusiastic General Equipment Operator to assist with field preparation to provide the best surfaces for our local teams for training and match play. Position Overview: The chosen candidate will be responsible for daily tasks associated with the upkeep and supervision of Sports Fields. These responsibilities encompass tasks such as maintaining cleanliness in public facilities, BBQ areas, and addressing graffiti. General gardening, tree care, lawn mowing, and turf maintenance are also part of the role. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to undertake minor landscaping, weed control, and litter collection. Adherence to workplace health and safety, risk management, environmental standards, and quality goals is essential. The role may involve worksite traffic control and operating, maintaining, and servicing Council's equipment. Who we are looking for: We are looking for a hard-working and dedicated individual who can actively participate and contribute to a culture of workplace health and safety. Experience in a similar role in sport fields/horticulture is ideal as well as the ability to plan, organise and set priorities. The successful applicant will also be physically fit, have good written and oral communication skills and hold a current class ‘C’ driver’s licence.
