Service Operations Manager - Electromechanical Equipment

Client: 
Our client provides a complete range of services for rotating equipment, encompassing repairs and overhauls for a diverse array of steam turbines and electro-mechanical machinery. Its customers includes businesses in the power generation, petrochemical, mining, and heavy manufacturing sectors.

Role: 
In this role, reporting directly to Head of Operations, you will lead the  service and operations for NSW. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance of the service business unit, including profit and loss (P&L) accountability. Your role involves leading a diverse team of technical professionals, ensuring operational activities meet customer requirements, contractual obligations, and safety standards. You will drive key operational performance indicators, optimize margins, and align financial targets with strategic objectives.

• Managing the overall financial performance of the service business unit, including profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
• Supervising a diverse team of technical professionals such as electrical fitters, and providing guidance to team leaders.
• Ensuring operational activities support customer requirements and adhere to contractual obligations and resource availability.
• Driving key operational performance indicators including financial forecasting, margin optimization, resource utilization, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Leading to achieve financial targets in alignment with strategic objectives and budgetary constraints.
• Generating regular financial reports and conducting analysis to identify areas for improvement.
• Monitoring key financial metrics to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
• Conducting periodic reviews with senior management to discuss financial performance and strategic direction.
• Implementing effective financial management practices to optimize profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in managing profit and loss statements (P&Ls).
• A strong technical background in electrical engineering or a related trade is required.
• Proven ability to motivate and challenge team members while providing direction to the entire organization.
• Proven experience in a leadership position with similar responsibilities.
• Exceptional negotiation and sales support capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
