General Hand

Randstad have permanent opportunities available for General Hands to support one of our defence client sites in remote locations such as Laverton in Western Australia. This is a rostered position 15 days on 13 days off with all flights and accommodation provided. You will be providing services to on site services teams undertaking general maintenance across the facilities and some cleaning and hospitality tasks. Permanent, salaried positions available to start asap. FIFO from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provision of general site support functions including providing support to on-site staff as required.
• Undertaking general maintenance tasks to ensure all site facilities and accommodation areas remain in a fit for purpose and functional condition.
• Undertaking grounds and exterior maintenance activities across the site.
• Provision of high quality cleaning services across all areas of the site.
• Carry out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards and delivery commitments are met
• Undertake grounds maintenance tasks such as weed spraying and other tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager
• Complete all general maintenance work as directed by the Facility Manager or their delegate.
• Assists the Facilities Managers in site related duties such as monitoring and maintaining waste & rubbish disposal.
• Liaison with external contractors if required including monitoring contractor performance
• General labouring tasks as required
• Handling, storing and distributing goods and materials as required
• Maintain a good relationship with Site staff and other trade staff/ contractors
• Assist the Chefs with service and cleaning
• Undertake wet-mess bar duties during designated times

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience working in a general maintenance and/or service environment
• Strong customer service oriented
• Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
• The ability to work autonomously as well as contribute to a team environment
• Must be able to work effectively in a demanding and remote environment
• A strong focus on health & safety and hygiene standards
• Current National Police Check or be willing to obtain one

To be considered for this position you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a current Australian Defence Security Clearance.
