About the role
With a focus on solution finding behaviours and significant financial management expertise, the General Manager, Finance's role is to lead the Finance team in partnering with the organisation to provide cost-effective support and strategic insight. They will be accountable for ACSO's financial reporting and systems, and report to the Chief Corporate Services Officer (CCSO), Executive, and Board on key financial measures. They are responsible for developing and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships with government and other services providers to maximise ACSO's reputation and financial opportunities.
The General Manager, Finance will be involved in facilitating best practice to ensure continuous improvement in Finance services delivery and organisational capability.
What we're looking for
- CPA / CA qualification with strong financial management experience
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in accounting
- 10+ years sector experience with at least 5 years' experience as a leader of managers
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
- Experience in leading teams in partnering with the business
- Significant experience demonstrating solution finding behaviours
Desirable but not essential
- Experience in accounting for Government contracts
- Experience in Technology One enterprise system
- Small and large-scale project management experience.
