About Mulungu
Mulungu is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service aimed at providing Primary Health Care and wellbeing services to Mareeba and surrounding districts. This service aims to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and families through improved access to Primary Health Care, culturally appropriate education and health literacy, specialist, and Allied Health services.
About the role
Mulungu Health seeks a General Manager Health Services, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer as a senior leadership team member to strengthen the leadership, clinical governance, service delivery, and strategic development of the organisation.
Expressions of interest are invited from experienced executives motivated to contribute to the next phase of Mulungu’s Health’s success in improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Mareeba Shire and Atherton Tablelands.
Key Responsibilities.
The key objectives of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the operation and delivery of Mulungu Health Services to ensure the improved health outcomes for the clients.
- Leading the design and delivery of both new and existing services in alignment with Mulungu Aboriginal Corporations Services Plans and strategic direction
- Overseeing funding applications and reporting requirements
- Monitoring and ensuring continuous improvement across the team.
- Providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a multidisciplinary team ensuring all staff are engaged and empowered to achieve their program objectives; and
- Actively participating as a member of the Executive Team.
Skills and Experience sought- Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Experience in Senior leadership in healthcare, ideally in ATSI primary health managing a large Health Service similar workplace.
- Experience with the social determinants of health, using systems-based principles of population health, clinical governance, quality, and service delivery to improve health outcomes.
- Demonstrated strategic mindset with a strong business acumen, consistently identifying ways, improving efficiency and quality of services provided to team.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and evaluate health programs for improving population and Indigenous health within the Comprehensive Primary Health Care framework.
- Demonstrated how you would Lead change - Initiate and facilitate change that produces better outcomes for our community.
