The General Manager (GM) is a senior role in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD). Reporting to the Executive Director Operations the position of GM will be responsible for the delivery of a complex range of Medical Imaging Services. The GM has single point accountability for Medical Imaging service delivery and performance MLHD. In line with NSW Health State Directions, this role is integral to the development of services which 1) improve the health status of our community with early intervention/prevention strategies, 2) minimise unnecessary hospitalisation and 3) provide alternative health care models to inpatient stays. The GM provides strategic and operational advice as part of the executive team as well as strategic leadership of Medical Imaging services.
The position is responsible for ensuring both outpatient and inpatient Medical Imaging services, supporting the effective coordination and the flow of patients services within the LHD, ensuring services are managed to provide the best health for care and the most efficient utilisation of resources to support that care. This includes initiative consultative and strategic partnerships with other stakeholders including the Primary Health Network and private health providers to enable integrated service delivery. Working within the policy and procedural framework of MLHD, the GM will oversight the operational management of the site and departments to meet financial and performance targets.
The GM is also responsible for developing strong partnerships to delivery high standards of health care services to ensure these services are based on contemporary health management approaches. Clinical Service Planning, Business Development, and Facility Master Planning for service as a whole; including oversight and preparation of business cases for efficiency related staffing enhancements, service enhancements, capital projects, facility master plans and revenue generating business development proposals.
Imaging Informatics Planning and Development for LHD as a whole (including alignment with NSW eHealth strategy where applicable, and – where not - influencing same via regular Executive meeting) and eMR integration, development of secure external report and image distribution system, participation in NSW State projects. The GM will also manage and prepare responses for Ministerial, MoH, CE and Board enquiries, issues, complaints, and so on.
