ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Country Manager/CEO or the Accountable Manager for Australia
Supervises: All operations and compliance staff
including contracted ground handling.
HOURS OF DUTY:
As a management position the reasonable hours required to perform the position. The additional reasonable hours have been factored into the annual salary.
DELEGATIONS: Delegations as per the Delegations Register.
QUALITY ASSURANCE AND SAFETY SYSTEMS:
The employee shall comply, so far as is practicable, with the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice and the Company’s Safety Management System, Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and shall comply with instructions given by his or her Manager and / or Supervisor in respect of the Health and Safety of themselves and the Health and Safety of other persons including contractors and visitors.
WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manager/Supervisor will assist with the implementation of, and compliance with the Company’s Safety Management System, within the Workplace under their control and in line with the relevant Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. This may be through direct supervision or delegation and follow-up.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Manager/Supervisor will ensure that the recommendations from audits will be implemented in respect of the Health and Safety of themselves and the Health and Safety of other persons in the workplace including contractors and visitors.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The GM Operations is responsible to the CEO/Accountable Manager for effectively and efficiently carrying out the duties and responsibilities detailed within Company Policy and Exposition
- Provide Leadership to the Network Operations team
- Managing a team providing flight following and monitoring in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Responsible for communicating disrupts to client and liaising to find solutions acceptable according to contract
- Overseeing a team who Manage air and ground operations disruptions.
- Liaise with Flight Operations Manager to Assist in Crew Management rostering when required.
- Responsible for the most effective and cost-efficient operations in line with contract compliance.
- Negotiate and implement all ground handling Service Level Agreement including measurable KPI’s which are monitored according to policies and procedures.
- Managing performance of outsource ground services providers within Service Level Agreements and their compliance to regulatory requirements.
- Implement new systems to provide automation within the Network Operations functions, Collate, assess and Provide responses to audit findings and take definitive action to develop & implement remedial/corrective action.
- Overall responsibility for the most cost-effective utilisation of manpower and resources with Network Operations to meet the company customer expectations.
- Co-ordinate all operations functions to ensure team comply with regulatory requirements, policies, standards and practices.
- Produce monthly report for CEO review
- To directly assist and advise the FW & RW Accountable Manager in formulation of policy and in the determination of strategic matters, forward planning and initiatives relevant to the management and development of the operation.
- Work closely with the Quality and Safety Department to
- review, revise and update relevant manuals to ensure they accurately reflect the operations.
- Ensure that operational staff is appropriately trained, with particular emphasis on regulatory requirements, emergency response and work place health and safety.
- Responsible for incident reporting, follow-up, support investigation and closure.
- Lead Client communication in disrupts and where needed visit bases and improving client relationships.
- Staff appraisal, development, ongoing training programs and motivation.
- Maintaining business records and preparing operational statements and reports
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the manager
Essential: Must demonstrate to be considered Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Expertise
- Recognised Tertiary qualifications
- Min 5 years’ experience in aviation Ground Operations.
- Experience in Aviation regulation is a must
- Above average Communication Skills, written and oral.
- Ability to work within a rapidly changing and diverse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work within part of team.
